Vincent Verstraeten

Hey, I'm Vincent

Endpoint & Security Engineer · AI Explorer

I'm an engineer at Patch My PC, specializing in endpoint management, application packaging, and security. For years, my world has been Group Policy, Intune, SCCM, vulnerability remediation — the nuts and bolts of keeping environments secure and running.

Then agentic AI showed up, and everything shifted.

I got curious — first about what AI could do for my daily work, then about how agents actually function under the hood. That curiosity turned into hands-on experimentation, and now I'm deep into the world of AI agents, prompt engineering, and building workflows that blend my security background with this new capability.

What this blog is about

Ever Near is where I document the journey. No polished tutorials, no hype — just honest notes from someone learning by doing. You'll find posts about what I'm experimenting with, what's working, what's not, and what I'm figuring out along the way.

This blog reflects my process: an endpoint and security specialist stepping into AI, one experiment at a time. If you're on a similar path — technical background, new to AI, figuring it out as you go — you're in the right place.

Beyond the screen

I'm a father of four — a blended family of 2+2 — living in Antwerp, Belgium with my girlfriend Eleni. When I'm not behind a keyboard, I'm most likely swimming, cycling, or running. Triathlon is my thing — not just as a sport, but as a way to manage and recover from multiple sclerosis. Racing keeps me sharp, healthy, and moving forward, both physically and mentally.

That journey also led me to start chronischbeter.be — a project focused on living better with a chronic condition. It's the health side of the same mindset: keep learning, keep improving, don't wait for perfect.
